2024-03-22: Paladar de los Mercaderes

Author: Rob

Lunch at Paladar de Los Mercaderes has been the best meal we’ve had in Cuba so far. I had classic ropa vieja (beef brisket braised with tomato, onions, and peppers), and David had swordfish “Hemingway style”, which was cooked in a flavorful tomato sauce. We shared a side of yucca with mojo sauce, a sauce made with sour orange juice, garlic, olive oil, onion, and lime. To be honest, the mojo isn’t as good as Oona Montalvo’s, but it was still very tasty. To top it off there was live music playing in the background while we watched people walk by from the second floor balcony we were seated on.
